The Redcar boss looks ahead to Tuesday’s clash with Newcastle Blue Star.
Carl Jarrett praised the efforts of Blue Star boss Marc Nash as he called upon Redcar Athletic to continue their unbeaten record at Green Lane.
The Steelmen are yet to lose on the comfort of home soil – dropping points only in a 2-2 draw with Birtley Town – a record under some considerable threat from the travelling Tynesiders on Tuesday evening.
Promoted on a points-per-game basis in the summer, but with much bigger ambitions, Newcastle Blue Star snatched a playoff spot at the weekend as many of their rivals contested the Isuzu FA Vase.
The community club have been backed by a vocal support since reforming in the Northern Football Alliance in 2018, and with a near watertight defence, will prove a tough ask according to Carl Jarrett.
“We’re expecting a very hard game against Newcastle Blue Star.” The boss said.
“They’ve gotten into the play-offs this weekend. It’s a great position for them, and one that shows their quality.
“Blue Star are a very, very organised team. Marc Nash (Newcastle Blue Star Manager) will have them right up there come the end of the season.
“We’ve got to be at our best again to beat them.”
Of course aware of Redcar Athletic’s success on home soil, for Carl Jarrett, it was the same mantra once again.
“It’s the same-old story at home.” He concurred. “We’ve just got to concentrate on ourselves.”
“We need to be as good as we possibly can, obviously, like we have been in the past couple of home games.
“We need to have the right attitude, and the right mentality, and keep on producing performances like we have been, because we’ve been excellent.”
