The stalwart centre-back has committed to the club for another season.
Redcar Athletic are delighted to confirm popular defender Danni Lay has penned a new deal with the football club.
The captain committed his future to the Steelmen on the back of promotion to the Northern Premier League East, extending his stay at Green Lane until the May of 2026.
A popular figure amongst Carl Jarrett’s squad, Danni first put pen to paper in the summer of 2024, making the switch from Bishop Auckland having won the Northern League title.
The defender made 47 appearances for the Steelmen during the 2024/25 season, part of a watertight backline which kept 27 clean sheets, and regularly donning the captain’s armband.
Now set to enter uncharted territory in the Northern Premier League East, Danni has committed his future to the club for another year, penning a deal to remain at Green Lane into 2026.
On capturing the services of his skipper for another year, Carl Jarrett said: “I’m delighted that Danni has put pen to paper on a new deal.
“He was fantastic all season, and a great captain for the club.”
