Redcar Athletic will travel to the Turnbull Ground to face Whitby Town in a friendly tomorrow evening.

The Steelmen have stepped in due to a run of postponements to help the Seasiders close out their pre-season campaign.

Adverse weather has left Town short of vital minutes in approach to their Northern Premier League opener at the weekend, with their final clash with Stockton Town called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Redcar’s season has already kicked off, although some would certainly wish it hadn’t.

The friendly comes two games into the Steelmen’s 2023/24 campaign, each ending in defeat, to newly-promoted Birtley Town, and Tadcaster Albion.

Tomorrow night’s clash with Whitby Town gives Gary Forster’s side an extra opportunity to gel and improve, with an eye towards Friday’s visit of Northallerton Town.

Whitby are familiar opponents, having graced the hallowed turf at Green Lane earlier in pre-season, edging a tight affair with a late goal.

Fans are more than welcome to attend the hastily arranged fixture, and details can be found below.
