The Redcar derby will open our pre-season campaign in memory of Matty Graham.
Redcar Athletic will face local rivals Redcar Town in the opening bout of our 2025/26 pre-season campaign.
The tie will take place at Green Lane on Saturday 5th July, at 3pm, played in loving memory of Matty Graham.
Described as both caring and inspirational, Matty represented our Reserves during the tenure of Gareth Maiden a number of years ago, soon moving to Redcar Town before his untimely passing.
Both Redcar Athletic and our rivals at Town wish to honour his memory by raising money for a charity of the family’s choosing, with a fantastic afternoon planned to complement the action on the field.
There will be bouncy castles, live music, face painting and more, with entry simply a donation of your choosing at the turnstile.
We hope to see the Matty Graham Memorial Cup become an annual occurrence, and we wish all who attend a fantastic afternoon.
Redcar Athletic will play three more pre-season friendlies on home soil, culminating in the JR Cleator Cup against Easington Colliery on Saturday 19th July.
