Redcar's own Joe was featured on BBC Radio Tees for his selfless work tidying up the local community.
A Redcar boy has been praised for his efforts keeping the local streets and beaches clean.
In a special feature by Sophie Green, aired on Amy Oakden’s BBC Radio Tees Breakfast show, Joe’s help towards keeping Redcar’s streets, beaches and marshlands litter-free was spotlighted.
Inspired by the South Gare Litter Picking group, Joe has been donning a high vis and picking litter for the last five weeks – something he says he enjoys doing.
“The streets look better when I litter pick,” he told Tees. “I feel happy because I’ve picked up all the litter.”
His mum, Clare, is proud of her son’s dedication to making an impact.
“Most of the streets are litter free. Then, after bin day, the streets get a little bit littery, so Joseph goes out and picks away and it’s coming up really nice.
“I’m really proud of him, extremely proud. I love it, I love what’s he’s doing.”
