Redcar Athletic have joined forces with local charity Teesside Samaritans to promote mental health and well-being.

Redcar Athletic is proud to announce its new partnership with Teesside Samaritans, a leading charity dedicated to providing emotional support and promoting mental health. This collaboration is a significant step for the Steelmen towards helping to foster awareness, understanding, and open conversations about mental well-being within the sports and local communities.

The partnership between the Steelmen and Teesside Samaritans aims to leverage the influence of sports to raise awareness about mental health challenges and to create a supportive environment that encourages individuals to seek help and assistance when needed. This joint effort will combine the reach and impact of sports with Samaritans’ expertise in emotional support, creating a powerful platform for spreading crucial messages of hope, resilience, and recovery.

By working together with Teesside Samaritans, we aim to help remove the stigma surrounding mental health and provide valuable resources to those in need.

“We are thrilled to welcome Teesside Samaritans as an official partner of the club,” said Ryan McKnight, Managing Director of Redcar Athletic. “Mental health is an essential aspect of overall well-being, and through this partnership, we intend to amplify the conversation around it. By working together with Teesside Samaritans, we aim to help remove the stigma surrounding mental health and provide valuable resources to those in need.”

Teesside Samaritans, with its long-standing commitment to providing confidential emotional support, will collaborate with Redcar Athletic to create awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, and community events that address mental health challenges faced by individuals of all ages.

“We are excited to partner with Redcar Athletic to promote mental health and well-being in the Teesside area,” stated Chair of Teesside Samaritans, Alison Innerd. “Sports have the power to inspire and unite communities, and this partnership will further enable us to reach a wider audience with our message of support. By collaborating with Redcar Athletic, we aim to create a positive impact on people’s lives and encourage them to seek help if they are struggling.”

As part of the partnership, Redcar Athletic and Samaritans will also collaborate on fundraising initiatives to support the valuable work carried out by Teesside Samaritans in providing emotional support to those in need. Both organizations are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges.
