It's been a while since we last faced the Miners, but there will hopefully be 3 points to come as we look to continue our winning run

The win against Blyth Town means our points advantage at the top of the table is still very much intact, and with games in hand on 2nd placed Emley there’s a real chance we could extend that lead to at least 10 points

Brad Fewster’s 15th minute strike meant once again he was a threat away from home, and that goal also means he is the Step’s 5th highest goalscorer too

Another clean sheet is a massive bonus too, though the Steelmen are yet to get 3 league ones in a row.

Twice before we have got two (Lincoln and Ossett, North Ferriby and Brighouse), but that elusive third is still an ask, though that can change tomorrow

Wednesday also saw us get our first 1-0 win since the nail-biter versus Ashington, and it was the first away one all season

We are currently on the 4th best unbeaten run in Step 4 as well, with this 10 game run last being usurped by Matlock back in October.

Since then, we have won 8 and drawn 2, with the next nearest side from our league being Heaton Stannington, who we face on the 27th

All in all, it has been a good few months for us, and a great start to the year as well, with both the league and the North Riding cup to look forward to

Now, onto Garforth

A mixed bag of results, as with most teams in this league, they have picked up heavy wins against Grimsby and Silsden, whilst also losing to Blyth Town and Pontefract Collieries

They are also in their regional cup, with their quarter-final being against Knaresborough on Tuesday, having beat Goole Town 4-0 at the end of October.

Scoring seems to not have been a huge issue for the Miners, with 6 of their players in the step’s top scorer rankings

Luke Aldrich is leading their race, with 8 goals so far. 5 of those have come away from home though, which is a somewhat ominous sign for Saturday

The predicted league table has Garforth finishing 8th, roughly where they finished last season, which was also their first season at this level during their current stint, as they gained promotion in the 2023-24 season

There isn’t a lot else to cover now, with all the Socrates stuff being written about in the match preview for the away trip, which you can read by clicking the link below
