Another league win and also another three points as we grab a 1-0 win against Blyth Town

Another big win for the Steelmen as they won a hard-fought battle against bottom of the league Blyth Town.
The only goal of the game came in the 15th minute, as Bradley Fewster’s striker from close range was enough to secure the win.
Redcar started brightly, and they were rewarded with the goal, but they will be frustrated that it was the only goal of the game. Throughout the 90 they had constant chances but nothing else fell for them.
The first goal came from a great passing move seeing a ball played across the box multiple times before falling to Fewster who tapped home a simple finish from six yards out.
The lads carried on the momentum, creating plenty of chances, forcing the Blyth keeper into making some really impressive saves.
Adam Boyes had a few opportunities to double the lead, hitting the post with one chance and making the keeper save at his near post with a lovely back heel flick from a cross.
The second half was similar, with Boyes having a great chance only a few minutes in as he was unfortunate to put an effort wide from a shot one-on-one with the keeper.
It settled down after that until the 70th minute, where John Howard made one of the best defensive clearances’ football has seen.
Josh Mazfari made a great stop originally, but the ball fell to a Blyth player from it, whose goal bound effort was somehow headed clear.
From the resulting corner Blyth had another opportunity where Bryan Taylor made another unbelievable clearance from an effort that was destined to go in.
Those were the only real chances from Blyth though as the lads were forced to work hard for the win.
The win meant the Steelmen go eight points clear despite having two games in hand on current second place Emley AFC.
Next up for Redcar is a 3pm clash with Garforth Town at the Hollou, as the lads look to continue their promotion push with another win.
We appreciate anyone who made the trip to Blyth and hope to see you this Saturday.
