Carl Jarrett's Steelmen put through their paces in training clash with Whitby Town.
Redcar Athletic faced Northern Premier League outfit Whitby Town over 90 minutes last night, clocking valuable match experience in the wake of a mass of postponements.
As new arrivals necessitate time to bed in, and the boss attempts to instil a new philosophy, the lack of minutes on the pitch has become a vast concern.
The Steelmen have played just the three games since Carl Jarrett took to the helm in the early days of the year, having to contend with three postponements in the last ten days.
Pleased to offer most of his squad a healthy run out, Jarrett was keen to talk up the benefit of the friendly clash.
“Last night against Whitby in a training game was just what we needed at this time, with games not being played.” He said.
“It gave us a great run out against a top team, and got the lads some vital game time.”
The Steelmen are set to face North Shields at BM Bi-Fold Green Lane tomorrow afternoon, but further communication about the validity of the fixture is likely to follow.
