Despite fantastic efforts, a sink hole puts paid to tonight’s Northern League fixture.
Redcar Athletic can confirm this evening’s scheduled bout with league-leaders Bishop Auckland has been postponed.
A number of the club’s volunteers worked tirelessly around the clock to ensure the pitch was in a playable condition, but unfortunately, damage to one of the corners of the pitch has rendered the area dangerous to play upon.
Consistent rainfall has formed somewhat of a sink hole in a key area of the field, and work has begun to repair the ground in time for Saturday.
A new date for the clash will be issued in due course, in collaboration with the Ebac Northern League.
Those who purchased tickets online will be able to use such for entry at the rescheduled game.
