The Black and Ambers have managed just a single point against the Steelmen since 2021.
As Crook Town set off to become the third visitors to Green Lane in a long and gruelling campaign, we took a look at their past, present and future, so you don’t have to.

WHO ARE YA?
Crook Town
Founded in 1889, Crook Town are perhaps the most well-known team to feature in the Northern League.
Steeped in history, the club have enjoyed many a successful foreign tour – including once to Barcelona to support football in Catalonia – as well as boasting a number of domestic successes.
The Black and Ambers are five times champions of the Northern League, most recently in 1963, whilst more significantly raising the FA Amateur Cup a remarkable five times too.

Crook play their football at the historic Millfield Ground, a site which has seen swathes of large crowds line it’s antiquated terraces.
The prestigious stadium now holds a lone 1’500 spectators, but once regularly sported attendances above 10’000, with the record coming against Walton and Hersham in 1952, as 17’500 watched a goalless draw in the fourth round of the FA Amatuer Cup.
CURRENT FORM

Victim to high-flying Boro Rangers on opening day, Crook Town have since enjoyed a double over our near-neighbours Marske United, including a 4-1 triumph in the Emirates FA Cup, and late dramatics at Mount Pleasant.

Having played a game more, the Steelmen are four for four heading in to this afternoon’s encounter, with eyes for number five.
