The record-breaking, award-winning shot-stopper is here to stay.
Redcar Athletic are delighted to confirm talented goalkeeper Josh Mazfari has signed a permanent deal with the club following his exit from Hartlepool United.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a record-breaking loan spell at Green Lane last term, and returns to reprise his role between the sticks in the Northern Premier League East.
A popular face amongst the Redcar faithful, Josh proved instrumental to the Steelmen’s Northern League success, keeping a miraculous 27 clean sheets across the course of the season.
His antics earned him plaudits from boss Carl Jarrett – scooping our Managers’ Player of the Season award – but also supporters en masse.
He was included in the North East Non-League Team of the Season, voted the top shot-stopper in the region by fans on social media.
News of his return won’t just prove a delight to supporters.
First Team boss Carl Jarrett was thrilled to retain the services of the young shot-stopper, labelling him a perfect fit for the gloves, and the dressing room.
“I’m absolutely over the moon to get Josh signed on a permanent deal.” He said.
“He came in last season and made a real impact, both on and off the pitch.
“He’s a fantastic player with great quality, and more importantly, he fits perfectly into the dressing room. The lads rate him highly and the supporters saw what he can bring.
“This is another big signing for us as we build towards what promises to be an exciting new season. I’m looking forward to working with Josh again.”
We’re thrilled to have you back, Josh!
