Redcar Athletic were welcomed as guests of Derby County, as they saw off Stoke City in a pre-season friendly at Pride Park.

The hospitality experience rounded off the Steelmen’s weekend-long training camp with the Rams’, using the facilities at their state-of-the-art academy complex, Moor Farm.

The new partnership between the two clubs comes through our mutual principal partner, Host and Stay, who were recently announced as Derby’s front-of-shirt sponsor for the coming season.

On the pitch, the Rams’ swept aside Stoke with relative ease, marking Craig Forsyth’s testimonial match with an emphatic three-goal victory.

Ex-Middlesbrough winger Nathanial Mendez-Laing earned his place on the scoresheet, curling home a fantastic third, after Curtis Nelson and James Collins established a comfortable lead.

Redcar Athletic would like to place on record it’s thanks to Derby County for their hospitality, both at Moor Farm, and Pride Park across the weekend.

We look forward to our continuing relationship across the rest of the season.
