The boss praised Redcar’s travelling support in Cumbria.
Carl Jarrett praised his Steelmen for grinding out a result whilst far from their best against Penrith – offering the plaudits to a tremendous travelling support.
Redcar were well followed from across the Pennines, the sea of red delighted by a first half double from Mark Anderson. His brace maintained a six point gap at the top of the Northern League.
Whilst certainly not the best performance of late, Carl Jarrett admitted was thrilled to return to TS10 with another three points.
The boss labelled a vocal travelling contingent as paramount to his side’s success, likening it to a ‘twelfth man.’
“The result was good.” He said. “Obviously, I’m more than happy with the three points.
“First and foremost, I want to say that the support today was excellent. It’s great to see so many numbers here and supporting us.
“It does help the lads, no matter what anyone thinks. I’ve said it before, it was like a twelfth man behind us.”

Such a boost seemed crucial to Redcar’s success on a rare afternoon off the pace in Cumbria.
Redcar struck the woodwork four times as chances went astray, although Penrith produced little of note to trouble Josh Mazfari.
Carl Jarrett critiqued his men for their shortcomings, but conceded that results were all that mattered at the business end of the season.
He said: “On the game, I don’t think we played our best football today. At times I thought we were sloppy.
“But, we took our chances. We created enough chances, I thought, in the first half to score more than two goals. It just wasn’t our best performance of the season.
“Hats off to the lads though. Sometimes it’s important to play poorly and win. It shows what a good team we are.
“We’ve got four games left, and we need three wins. I want four wins.
“You don’t come to football to lose. You try your best to win every game that you possibly can.
“Fair play to the lads. They’ve ground out a good result today. They never stopped until the end, Penrith, so I’ve got to give them some credit as well.
“I’m delighted with the three points.”
