The central defender becomes the latest addition to Carl Jarrett's squad.

Redcar Athletic are delighted to confirm the acquisition of experienced defender, Nathan Dale.

The 24-year-old links up with the Steelmen from fellow Redcar side, Newmarket, where he has plied his trade since the demise of Markse United.

Hailing from the town of Redcar, Nathan spent his youth in the academy set-up at Middlesbrough, reaping a half-century of appearances for both the Under-18s, and eventually the Under-21s.

The steadfast central defender was soon released by the Teesside giants, joining National League outfit, Gateshead, before uprooting to Iceland to play in the second division for Kórdrengir.

Nathan went on to make 31 appearances for the Icelandic outfit, once finding the net in a tremendous climb to a fifth place finish.

Returning home to the UK – and to the town of Redcar – Nathan opted to link up with his former Middlesbrough boss, Graeme Lee, then in charge at Mount Pleasant.

Training with North Riding Premier League champions-elect Redcar Newmarket since the unfortunate resignation of Marske United, Nathan admitted the ambition of Redcar Athletic was a key aspect in his decision to sign.

“I’m very pleased to be a part of this club,” the defender said, “and the journey it is on.”

“I’ve got a good relationship with Carl, and Macca, and I’m happy to finally get the chance to work with them both.

“I’m excited to get started, and to try and finish the season strong.”

Everyone involved with the club would like to issue Nathan a warm welcome. We are all excited to see you play in the ‘famous’ red and navy.

Having made a WOODSmith Construction Senior Cup appearance for Marske United, Nathan Dale is cup-tied.
