The experienced defender has committed his near future to the Steelmen.
Kevin Burgess has become the latest Redcar man to agree an extension to his current spell at Green Lane.
The club captain was ruled out for the majority of the campaign through injury, but returns to agree a new deal for our debut season in the Northern Premier League East.
Signed from the ashes of Marske United’s Northern Premier League endeavours, Kevin Burgess quickly rose to popularity with a number of stellar defensive performances.
The central defender led from the back with pride until suffering an injury against Newcastle Blue Star in October. His return came in our penultimate game of the season against Blyth Town.
With just months to go until a new chapter in the club’s history begins, the captain has agreed terms for a further year at Green Lane, extending his stay until May 2026.
One man thrilled to see the club captain commit his future to the Steelmen was Carl Jarrett, who praised his qualities as a leader when heralding his retention.
“Kev Burgess is everything you want from a player.” The boss said.
“His attitude is top drawer and his leadership next season will be vital.
“I’m delighted to have him back.”
As are we Kev. More of the same, ‘Skip.
