A record-crowd stole the headlines as Pools overcame a valiant Redcar.
It was a day to remember when Hartlepool United last visited the Hollou Sports Stadium, as matters on the pitch were overshadowed by a historic attendance.
A record crowd of 1’781 braved the violent downpours to watch what proved a Pools masterclass. Layton Watts struck early for the Steelmen, but his efforts were soon undone by sheer class from the National League outfit.
