Striker joins Athletic to become the third signing of the summer.
Redcar Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of Stockton Town striker Matty Tymon for an undisclosed fee.
Tymon started his career at Hartlepool United before amassing experience in the Northern League with Workington, West Auckland, Whitby Town and Marske United. He made the move to Stockton in 2022 and scored 9 goals in 26 games last season for the Anchors.
A strong presence up front, Tymon is adept at holding the ball up and bringing teammates into play, and is a potent threat in the 18-yard box.
The 33-year-old joins Isaac Walker and Joe Ferguson as the latest summer signing through the door at Green Lane.
“I’m really excited for the new season ahead,” he said. “I feel like it could be a special season with the group that we have here and I can’t wait to get started now.
He's someone I have admired from afar for a number of years.
Gary Forster, Redcar Athletic Manager
“Were delighted to get Matty into the football club,” manager Gary Forster said. “He’s someone I have admired from afar for a number of years.
“He is unplayable on his day as I have found out to my cost a number of occasions. I know he’s a born winner too.
“He is a really good signing for the football club, which signals the progress we are making on the whole.”
Welcome to Redcar Athletic, Matty!
