A remarkable team effort in the Gateshead sun saw Redcar Athletic put league-leading Dunston to the sword - netting four on the road for the second time this season.
Bradley Fewster got the ball rolling with a first half brace. His double sandwiched a tidy finish from Adam Boyes, as Sado Djalo snatched one back from the spot.
Any lingering doubt was put to bed when play resumed. Oscar Fletcher drove through the midfield to net his first goal since opening day, and Redcar’s fourth.
It was a sweltering afternoon at the UTS Stadium, made all the more enjoyable by the quickest of starts for Redcar Athletic.
Bradley Fewster rose to meet a deep cross not two minutes into the bout, heading back across goal to beat a sprawling Daniel Lowson.
Dunston were yet to settle when Adam Boyes picked out the far bottom corner to make it two. Mark Anderson was unlucky not to add a third when his strike from range rattled the upright.
It was Bradley Fewster who compounded the host’s misery with a well-taken second, beating Lowson at his near post having taken on Dunston’s right flank.
Play evened out as the league-leaders began to get a foot on the ball. Josh Mazfari had to be alert to collect a looping header from Micky Pearson, as JJ O’Donnell fired wide.
Dunston’s building pressure came to a head in the sixth minute of stoppage time. David Robinson was deemed to have been felled in the area, and Sado Djalo stepped up to bury the resulting spot kick.
Any hope the host’s had of staging a second half comeback was soon forgotten.
Oscar Fletcher fought for possession deep in the midfield, driving towards goal to beat Daniel Lowson with a looping effort, albeit aided by a deflection.
Game management quickly became an obvious priority for the Steelmen, who never looked threatened whilst under the coche.
David Robinson drilled an effort down the throat of Josh Mazfari, whilst Dan Turner couldn’t pick out the bottom corner through a sea of red shirts.
