Find out more about our trip to Northumberland to take on Whitley Bay.
Hillheads Park awaits for Redcar Athletic this evening in a bid to build on Saturday’s derby day success.

WHO ARE YA?
Whitley Bay
The Northern League is a competition steeped in history and home to many a club with celebrity. Whitley Bay are no exception.
Formed in 1950 as Whitley Bay Athletic, early successes in the Northern Football Alliance and Northumberland Senior Cup would be paled into insignificance in the club’s later years.
The Bay rose to prominence in the FA Amateur Cup, claiming a reputation as a top non-league side with consistent quarter-final appearances.

In 2002, the club claimed their first in a series of national successes, clinching the coveted FA Vase with a slender victory against Tiptree United at Villa Park.
The Bay soon continued their affinity with the prestigious competition, claiming a hat-trick of titles in 2011 with a 3-2 victory over Coalville Town, having thrashed Wroxham and swept aside Glossop North End in the two years prior.
CURRENT FORM

Once again, this form guide is rendered mostly obsolete by the weather, with only two of these games played since the turn of the year.
Whitley Bay turned out in the Brooks Mileson Memorial Cup, facing a narrow defeat to Division Two outfit Boldon CA to crash out of the competition.

Redcar Athletic scored derby day success against close rivals, Guisborough Town, capitalising on an early dismissal to strike through Oscar Fletcher and Mark Anderson.
Both sides had contrasting ends to 2024. The Seahorses beat West Auckland Town on home soil, whilst Redcar tasted defeat on Tyneside against the Lions of Newcastle Benfield.
PREVIOUS HISTORY
Redcar Athletic have found a mixed bag of success at Whitley Bay’s Hillheads Park, from entertaining defeats to hard-fought stalemates.
In August 2022, goals from Isaac Walker and Owen Clarkson saw the Steelmen poised to take a point, condemned to last minute heart-break on what could only be described as the hottest day Planet Earth has ever seen.
When the two sides met last season, Whitley Bay were on the dwindling end of a playoff push, and nothing more than three points would suffice.
Curtis Round and Adam Boyes linked up for Redcar’s goal, as Carl Jarrett’s men condemned the Seahorses to another season in Northern League Division One
TEAM NEWS
“We’ve got a few little knocks that I’m going to have to have a little look at in Callum Guy and Danni Lay. I need to asses the squad.”
The boss confirmed the duo would be touch-and-go for our trip to Hillheads Park, both suffering injuries in Saturday’s victory over Guisborough Town.

Kevin Burgess remains sidelined.
