The well-regarded midfielder becomes our third signing of the summer.
Redcar Athletic are delighted to confirm John Howard has completed a move from fellow Northern Premier League East side, Bishop Auckland.
The tough-tackling midfielder follows former Two Blues Louis Johnson and Joseph Bartliff to Green Lane, putting pen to paper to become our third new addition of the summer.
Hailing from Middlesbrough’s highly-regarded academy, John’s venture into non-league football began in the Northern League with Northallerton Town.
His performances in black and white found him well-renowned in the region, and a move to Bishop Auckland soon saw him central to their title success in 2024.
A short stint at Spennymoor Town came next, his time at the Brewery Field cut short in favour of a return to Heritage Park, and the Two Blues, during the winter.
John now pens a deal at Green Lane to further bolster Carl Jarrett’s squad, bringing a bank of experience and enthusiasm to his new home.
A long time admirer of the tough-tackling midfield man, the boss offered his delight at seeing John put pen to paper, praising both his energy and commitment.
“John is a great competitor all over the pitch.” He said.
“He’s another lad with bags of energy in midfield, with which he will add steel to the team.
“He will be important this season.”
We’re glad to have you onboard, John. Now it’s your turn…
