The boss offered his thoughts on our derby day victory.
Carl Jarrett hailed a return of the Redcar of old in a comfortable derby victory over play-off chasing Guisborough Town.
Oscar Fletcher gave the Steelmen the lead following Dylan McAvoy’s dismissal for a challenge on Bryan Taylor.
Mark Anderson added a second on the stroke of halftime, firing Redcar Athletic back to the top of the Northern League.
Carl Jarrett argued the performance echoed that of early successes. The boss praised what he deemed an excellent showing across the park.
“It was like watching the us of old really.” He said.
“I thought we were dominant from minute one right through ninety. They didn’t really bother us at all.
“To be fair, the sending off didn’t change the game. We were dominant even when it was eleven against eleven.
“Our overall play from the start of the game until the end was excellent. Everything about us. Our shape was good, we kept the ball really well and created chance after chance.
“I was really, really pleased with the lads today. We dug deep. It’s been a hard few weeks without a game, training constantly, just like most.
“It does get you down when you haven’t got a game. With our little blip before Christmas as well, it’s just a great start to the year to get three points, and put us back to the top of the league.”
