Redcar Athletic's historic Isuzu FA Vase first round encounter with Silsden has been rearranged for a second time.

Green Lane will now host the enticing fixture on Tuesday 31st October, with an 8pm kick-off, after rain scuppered the affair two weekends in a row.

The match was originally due to be played on Saturday 21st October, but the effects of Storm Babet saw swathes of postponements across the area.

A waterlogged pitch and wind damage to the Green Lane dugouts left the fixture unfilled, with a new date for the weekend after announced to accommodate Silsden’s travel.

Unfortunately, a pitch inspection yesterday morning deemed unforeseen heavy rainfall had rendered the pitch unplayable yet again, and a new date would have to be agreed with the FA.

The Isuzu FA Vase operates an eight-day window for rescheduled games, but with adverse weather conditions in mind, the FA advised the game be played before the month ends.

Redcar Athletic will now entertain the Northern Counties East League title-challengers on Tuesday 31st October, a Halloween spectacular.

Let’s hope the spooks stay off the pitch though…

Redcar Athletic needs you!

Whilst our historic second bout into the Isuzu FA Vase tournament proper has been twice delayed, Redcar Athletic still need YOUR support.

Football’s greatest and most iconic moments often come under the lights, and Tuesday offers the Steelmen a chance to carve out one of their own.

Two attacking sides, one spot left in the second round, there’s no place better to be this Halloween.

An Isuzu FA Vase fixture, Redcar Athletic Membership is NOT valid for this fixture. Tickets purchased for the original date will be accepted at the turnstile.
