Danny Rowe Signs for Redcar Athletic

The former Wycombe, Barrow, York and Whitby defender now joins the Steelmen, moving from Spennymoor

A first signing since Rio May’s arrival, and it is another defender as we excitedly announce the addition of Danny Rowe!

Being able to play in both defence and midfield, the versatile Boro-born lad joins us for the foreseeable future, with the main aim now to be winning the league title

168 appearances for Whitby Town, 53 for Spenymoor, and 25 career goals. Danny looks to be a solid acquisition for the squad.

He has a vast array of experience throughout the leagues, having started his career at Rotherham United before joining Wycombe Wanderers, with a loan spell at Stalybridge Celtic sandwiched between the two.

He then spent a couple of years at Barrow before moving to York City in 2017

After that was a season with Frickley Athletic, and then a move to Whitby Town, where he spent the longest stint of his career, making 168 appearances in 5 years, before then moving to Spennymoor in 2024

On his arrival, manager Carl Jarett said, “As a management team, we are delighted to bring Danny to the club. He’s got loads of experience at higher levels and is a top defender. The timing is great, with all the games left this season, so hopefully he can help the club push on to promotion”

Danny will also be in Saturday’s match squad as we take on Ashington, so if you want to see him in action, then make sure you’re there
