The boss spoke to Ash Stone following a win in the Emirates FA Cup.
Carl Jarrett hailed a massive result in the Emirates FA Cup as the ten men of Redcar Athletic held on to beat a well-drilled North Ferriby.
Goals from Oscar Fletcher and Bradley Fewster gave the Steelmen a two-goal lead, before Louis Johnson was given his marching orders for an alleged elbow.
Redcar worked tirelessly to see out the clean sheet, booking a date with either Guisborough Town or Consett in the Preliminary Round.

Pleased with both the result and the performance, Carl Jarrett was full of praise for his Steelmen and both their grit and desire.
He claimed North Ferriby were a good outfit and tough to beat, and hailed the effort his players put in to eke out an impressive result to open the campaign.
“Massive.” The boss said. “A massive win for us to start the season.
“We knew what to expect from North Ferriby. They’re organised well and they’re a really good outfit. We knew they were going to be difficult to beat.
“I think they finished eighth or ninth in their league last season – the league we’re now in – so it was going to be a good gauge for us today to see where we’re at.
“I thought if you paid money to watch the game, you watched a great first half. Two teams going at each other with very little in it.
“We scored a great goal. The ball off JJ (Bartliff) and obviously the finish from Oscar (Fletcher). Obviously, getting the second was brilliant.
“I felt we needed a third to win the game, or to keep a clean sheet. To be fair to the lads, even after Louis (Johnson) got sent off, they’ve worked hard for the shirt.
“They put lots of graft in, lots of heart, loads of desire and passion. Everything a manager wants from a group of players, they’ve given me today.”

It’s often easy in football to heap praise solely on those who put the ball in the back of the net, but an instrumental part of today’s success came from the back.
Carl Jarrett lauded his players’ desire to keep clean sheets, saying his defensive talent deserved just as much of the plaudits as those in attack.
“I think we spoke during pre-season about conceding goals.” He said.
“When you look at the competitive games we’ve played, we beat Easington (Colliery) one-nil, and these two-nil.
“Our lads know their desire about locking things up at the back is about keeping clean sheets. This team will always produce the goods upfront and it will always score goals.
“We’ve got a great group who’ll always work hard for each other. In this league, it’s all about hard work and keeping clean sheets. That’s what wins you games.
“Today, we asked them to get back and defend better, and the lads have done it tenfold. Even Brad (Fewster) and Adam (Boyes) worked tirelessly hard to stop their centre-backs getting out.
“In football, it’s always the attackers that get the glory, scoring goals. The defenders should get the glory for keeping clean sheets.”
