The boss hopes to see a pair of faces back in contention come Saturday afternoon.
Carl Jarrett expressed his delight at an eight day break for his table-topping Steelmen, hoping to see more faces fit for selection come Saturday afternoon.
Redcar Athletic scraped past Northallerton to mark the end of a relentless patch of games, now given a well-earned rest ahead of Whickham’s visit to Green Lane.
Without four key figures at the Calvert’s Stadium on Friday evening, Carl Jarrett relished the chance to give his side a break, admitting some were ‘worse-for-wear’ come the final whistle.
“In the last fifteen minutes, we had four or five lads hobbling around with little injuries.” He said. “Little niggles.”
“That’s the best thing about this eight day break. We can have two training sessions, and have a rest.”
Olly Cann and Kevin Burgess both on the road to recovery, Jarrett remarked the pair may be fit to return come to weekend, returning his squad to all but ‘full strength.”
“Hopefully, come Saturday, we’ll have another two players back in the squad.” The boss said.
“We’ll be not far from full strength. I’m happy about that.”
