The central defender will lead the Steelmen into the 2024/25 season.
Redcar Athletic are pleased to confirm captain Kevin Burgess has committed another year to the club.
The central defender will now remain with the Steelmen until the end of the 2024/25 season, with the option to extend further at such time.
A key part of Carl Jarrett’s squad since his accession, Kevin Burgess staked his claim as one of the first names on the team sheet across just 16 appearances.
Signed from the ashes of Marske United’s Northern Premier League side, ‘Kev’ is a born leader, taking on the mantle of captain with his plentiful experience.
Keen to see the ambitions of Redcar Athletic come to fruition, Kevin offered his excitement to lead the club into a new season.
“I’m really happy to sign for another year at Redcar Athletic.” Kev admitted.
“The ambition of the club matched my own, and I’m hungry more than ever to win trophies and push for promotion!
“I’m really looking forward to this coming season, and to play with the great squad that Carl, Macca, Bully and the club’s owners continue to build.”
First Team boss Carl Jarrett was equally delighted to see the skipper put pen to paper for 2024/25, praising the 37-year-olds continued ethic.
“Kev is a great leader,” Jarrett insisted, “on the pitch, and off it!”
“He’s been great since he came to club, and I am delighted that he’s staying on for next season.”
We’re glad to have you with us, Kev.
