For the first time this season, we face a side again...unless you're counting the FA Cup replay versus Guisborough. Hopefully, though, this match against BPA sees us get all three points.
Slowly and steadily, we are reaching the halfway point of our campaign, with roughly 25 games left to go in all competitions.
Each defeat is quickly overwritten by a stellar victory, and each blip is promptly crossed out by a moment of magic.
The fact that the defeats to Bishop Auckland and Matlock were our last two speaks volumes to the quality on show.
Of our last 10 games, there has been just one defeat, but more importantly, 9 wins!
In the same ten games, Bradford sit 4th in the form table, with five wins, four draws and a defeat to a North Ferriby side who are in fact unbeaten in their last ten league matches.
In terms of goal-scoring, though, it seems as though we are absolutely unstoppable, with the Steelmen leading the way in goal difference at step 4, only being a goal behind being best in the country, with a side in step 5 and 6 both having a +46 GD.
Carl Jarrett having been nominated for manager of the month is another brilliant accolade too, with our 7 wins being accompanied by 28 goals scored.
Adam Boyes prolificness is something that also cannot be ignored, with the striker sat on 19 goals this season, meaning he is first in the Step 4 top scorers table.
He isn’t the only RAFC player in those rankings though, with Bradley Fewster sat in 8th with 12 goals, and Oscar Fletcher in 22nd with 9 goals.
62 goals scored in the league, and 18 conceded, we really are flying high.
Our opponents, though, blow that ’18 goals conceded’ figure out of the park.
Bradford P.A. have so far conceded just NINE goals this entire campaign.
The 2004-05 Chelsea side that conceded 15 goals reached eight conceded on game week 17, meaning, if Bradford did keep up that form, they could very well end the season on roughly 20 conceded…
That is, if we don’t do the usual stuff tomorrow…
BPA are still in the FA Trophy too, having beat Morpeth Town on penalties to set themselves up with a match against Radcliffe, who are currently 3rd in the National League North!
Their last five league games have seen them beat Garforth and Blyth Town, draw to Heaton Stannington and Silsden, and lose to North Ferriby (Who, as mentioned, are in pretty great form right now).
At the other end of the field, BPA haven’t had the goal scoring success we have had, currently sat on 22 goals scored meaning they have scored less than 16th placed Bishop Auckland, and the same number as 15th placed Garforth Town.
If attack wins you games, and defence wins you titles, then BPA might actually be our biggest threat to the title.
This match is quite literally an unstoppable force vs an immovable object. 62 goals scored vs 9 conceded, and only one of those two stats can end the weekend on top.
For that, though, we will have to wait and see what happens on the pitch.
I will hopefully see you there tomorrow, but if you aren’t able to make it then there will be live updates on our Twitter/X page
Take care, and up the Steelmen!
