The popular defender has signed a one-year contract, with option for a second.
Redcar Athletic are delighted to confirm popular defender Nathan Guru has penned a new deal with the football club.
The 2023/24 Supporters’ Player of the Season has committed his future to the Steelmen until the May of 2026, with the option to extend for a further season at such time.
Signed in the October of 2022, Nathan is the club’s longest serving player, and the most-capped of the current squad.
After receiving a red card in only his second start against former club Guisborough Town, the defender nailed down a position during the tenure of Gary Forster, before impressing Carl Jarrett to pen his first contract for the 2024/25 season.
A further half century of appearances helped to guide Redcar Athletic to the Northern League title. Nathan netted twice during the campaign.
With the Steelmen set to embark on a new chapter in the Northern Premier League East, the 24-year-old now signs a new deal to keep him at the club until 2026.
The contract includes an additional option for a one-year extension, which can be triggered at any point until May next year.
On Nathan’s commitment, First Team boss Carl Jarrett said: “Nathan has been ever-present last season.
“It’s great news to get him back in board.”
We’re glad to have you, Nathan.
