Redcar Athletic would like to take the time to thank supporters for their incredible backing at Green Lane this season.
The Steelmen finished their Northern League campaign as one of SEVEN clubs to boast an average attendance of 300 or higher, recording the fourth biggest crowd of the season last Saturday.
A fantastic 740 passed through the gates to watch our crucial 1-0 victory over Blyth Town last Saturday.
Only Newcastle Blue Star (against us), Kendal Town and Whitley Bay have recorded higher attendances this season, all coming in the last three weeks of the season.
An average of 306 spectators passed through the gates each game on the Redcar seafront.
Only six clubs had a higher tally, including Marske United and Guisborough Town – who shared similar totals.
Kendal Town, Newcastle Blue Star, North Shields and Whitley Bay made up the other four.
Green Lane opened its doors to 383 spectators on opening day, as the Steelmen leaped to the top of the league with a four goal battering of Kendal Town.
That figure was bettered only twice as the season progressed. 517 were present for our derby day victory over Guisborough Town.
A special thank you must be given to the 113 who turned up in the cold and the rain to watch Redcar Athletic demolish West Allotment Celtic.
Our lowest gate of the season, those intrepid supporters were privy to the biggest victory of the season in the Northern League (8-0).
