The Steelmen’s Player of the Season put pen to paper on this day in 2022.
Redcar Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of versatile defender Nathan Guru. Well, we were two years ago.
The popular 24-year-old today celebrates the start of his third full year at the club, and with plenty of decoration to show for it.
Signed from Thornaby on Saturday 17th September 2022, Nathan proved an instant addition to the eleven, marking his arrival with a red card against another of his former sides in Guisborough Town.
The midfielder-turned-central-defender continued his presence in the backline during the tenure of Gary Forster, clocking a half century of appearances come the February of this year.
Upon Carl Jarrett’s arrival, Nathan quickly became one of the first names on the team sheet, since becoming the first to put pen to paper for the new season.
The 24-year-old enters his third term having made 66 appearances for the club (now 81), scoring but the once in a five-goal thumping of Newcastle Benfield.
Popular amongst the fans and squad alike, Nathan scooped our Player of the Season Award for his efforts last year, telling of his desire to further the club’s ambitions.
On his latest milestone, Guru added: “I’ve really enjoyed my last two years at the club.”
“Everyone around the club has been excellent, on and off the pitch.
