Redcar Athletic to face promoted side Birtley Town in Green Lane curtain-raiser.
The 2023/24 iteration of the Northern League is set to begin on Saturday 29th July, when Birtley Town will visit the Redcar seafront to open the season.
Known as the Hoops, Birtley secured their place in division one with a dramatic play-off victory over Billingham Town, clinching promotion through a penalty shootout.
Gary Forster’s side will then face a midweek venture into Durham, with last year’s final away day to Crook Town set to be the first of the new campaign.
Three straight home matches conclude Athletic’s opening run, with Heaton Stannington, Northallerton Town, and rivals Guisborough all due to make the trip to Green Lane.

A challenging festive season begins with the reverse fixture against our neighbours, before Redcar host relegated side Shildon in the days before Christmas.
Stokesley is the venue for our Boxing Day contest, as promoted Boro Rangers await Gary Forster’s men.
Rangers earned promotion to the first division last season, edging out their title rivals Horden with a 3-0 victory on the final day.
It’s off to Grounsell Park at the beginning of the new year, with Heaton Stannington the club’s first opponents in 2024.
West Auckland will be the first to visit Green Lane in January, taking on Redcar on Saturday the 20th.
The Steelmen’s final home match of the season will be contested by the notorious Seaham Red Star, who may just make an unwelcome appearance in July’s cup draws…
A trip to Newcastle will wrap up the standard league season, with Newcastle Benfield Redcar’s last opponents, hosting the final match on Saturday 20th April.
