Redcar Athletic can confirm new boss Carl Jarrett will be joined in the technical area by the ever-experienced Dave McTiernan.
The 39-year-old links up with his former Marske United comrade at Green Lane, bringing with him boundless insight as both a player and a coach.
Affectionately known as ‘Macca,’ Dave began his playing career at Whitby Town, with whom he made 485 appearances over four successful spells.
The midfielder went on to represent Harrogate Town, Blyth Spartans and Marske United in a fruitful career, whilst making up a progressive coaching team at Middlesbrough FC, tasked with nurturing young talents of the likes of Ben Gibson and Dael Fry.
The 39-year-old has since added to his managerial experience at Mount Pleasant, working alongside Carl Jarrett in the role of player-coach, whilst more recently manning a leading role in the prestigious Middlesbrough-based T6 Academy.
On the prospect of continuing his illustrious coaching career on the Redcar seafront, Dave commented: “I’m absolutely delighted!”
“Watching from afar, you can see the club’s reputation starting to grow. You can see the ambition.
“I’m just absolutely delighted to be a a part of it.”
Dave McTiernan will man the dugout alongside Carl Jarrett this Friday, as a new era for Redcar Athletic begins in Northallerton.
The Steelmen travel to the Calverts’ Stadium for an enticing ordeal under the lights, tasked with making an instant response from last weekend’s bitter disappointment.
We can’t wait to see some of you there to welcome in the new managment… and maybe a few extra faces.
