Redcar Athletic reached another social media milestone, as support for the club continues to climb to new heights.

Earlier this week, the Steelmen’s official Twitter/X account welcomed it’s 6000th follower, a growth of 100 since the season began.

The milestone comes amid growing support across the club, from increased attendances, to the introduction of the new Steel Army, creating a fantastic atmosphere at BM Bi-Fold Green Lane.

In July, the Steelmen welcomed Hartlepool United to Green Lane, with the prospect of an ex-football league club attracting a record crowd to the Redcar seafront.

1’781 fans lined the terraces that evening, and despite Athletic suffering a hefty defeat, the atmosphere had lasting positive implications for the club.

A massive 750 spectators passed through the turnstile for the club’s opening two league fixtures, including 448 for an evening clash with Northallerton Town.

The number of travelling fans has seen a steady increase too, with Redcar’s away support a huge incentive for the players as performances begin to climb.

As the crowds increased, so too has the atmosphere, engineered by the introduction of the new Steel Army.

A band of young, avid football fans from Hartlepool, the Steel Army – along with their drum – have contributed to creating a refreshing, vibrant feel to Green Lane on a matchday.

Redcar Athletic would like to place on record it’s thanks for the growing levels of support, and for the new milestone of 6000 followers on Twitter/X.

Your support means the world to the club, and this weekend, we’ll need it more than ever…

On Saturday 23rd September, Redcar Athletic welcome North West Counties Premier Division side, Padiham, to Green Lane, bidding for a place in the First Round Proper of the Isuzu FA Vase for only the second time in history.

The Steelmen need YOUR help to see it through. Get down to Green Lane; bring your scarfs, your flags, your shirts; and cheer the lads on to a historic victory.

The first 50 accompanied u16’s will be gifted a free flag, and a welcome gift, and there’s a place for each and everyone of them in the new Steel Army, a band of young, passionate fans, who are recruiting numbers now.

Don’t miss out on a massive afternoon, book your tickets online now, or on the gate on Saturday.

IMPORTANT: Redcar Athletic Memberships are not valid for this fixture, due to FA rules and regulations. All entrants to the ground must pay admission, from £7 for adults, to £4 for concessions, and £2 for u16’s.

We’ll see you there!
