Redcar Athletic will face Stocksbridge Park Steels’ reserves in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Derby County’s Moor Farm.

The Steelmen’s fourth pre-season encounter comes as part of a weekend-long training camp at the category one complex, where the squad are free to enjoy the state-of-the-art facilities.

Assistant Manager Mark Robinson leads an attacking drill at Derby County’s Moor Farm training complex.

Redcar took advantage of the immaculate surfaces on offer yesterday, as Gary Forster put the majority of his roster through a number of high-intensity training drills.

This morning’s clash with Stocksbridge will present the chance for valuable game time, as Athletic’s new blood looks to gel, ahead of a tough Northern League campaign.

The Steels’ new look reserves squad travel to Moor Farm this morning for what they will see as a real test, playing their football a few divisions below Redcar in the County Senior League Premier.

Stocksbridge Park Steels themselves are a member of the Northern Premier League, with some of their first team squad potentially involved in this morning’s affair.

Forster will have a large squad at his disposal, missing only a few in the midlands this weekend.

Anthony Bell and Isaac Walker have not travelled with the team, due to various reasons, whilst Joe Ferguson is still managing his return from injury.

James Sayer is another doubt, but will possibly play a reduced role as he looks to manage a knock.

There will be no live updates on the match, but a full report will be available at the final whistle.
