Experienced shot-stopper links up with the Steelmen on a three-month loan deal.
Redcar Athletic are pleased to confirm a short-term loan deal for the services of Callum Roberts.
The 25-year-old shot-stopper links up with Carl Jarrett’s squad from Stockton Town, donning the gloves at Green Lane for the remainder of the season.
Hailing from South Shields, Callum represented a number of high profile academies in his youth career, headlined by a long stint with Preston North End, where he flirted with first team action.
Having joined Billingham Synthonia in the Northern League for the 2018/19 season, Callum made the switch to the Northern Premier League East, donning the yellow of blue of Stockton Town for the past five years.
A proven talent, the 25-year-old joins the Steelmen in search of more valuable minutes since the Anchors’ capture of Nathan Harker, offering a reliable presence between the sticks where defensive frailties have posed problems.
Keen to see the shot-stopper on board, Redcar boss Carl Jarrett commented: “Callum will be massive for us!”
“He is top drawer at what he does, even playing at a higher level.”
Everyone involved at Redcar Athletic would like to offer a warm welcome to Callum Roberts, and wish him the very best in his short stay on the Redcar seafront.
A massive thank you too for the efforts of Stockton Town in their support in the completion of the deal.
Welcome to the Steelmen, Callum.
