“Ultimately, it’s about winning, and I know I can help achieve that.”

A fan-favourite in his first spell at Green Lane, Oscar Fletcher returns from a short stint at Darlington Road to become the Steelmen’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

Upon his Redcar return, he spoke to Head of Media Ash Stone about a shared ambition, and what the 2024/25 season may hold for both parties.

A keen young midfielder with an eagerness to succeed, Oscar Fletcher’s Green Lane return is sure to peak the interest of many who lamented his December exit.

Just 19 years of age, Oscar brings masses of talent and potential to Carl Jarrett’s squad, with the boss labelling his work-ethic and ball-playing ability as ‘outstanding.’

Delighted to be back representing the red and navy himself, the midfielder confessed his love for the club, telling Ash Stone he was raring to go when the referee’s whistle sounds on July 27th.

“I’m absolutely buzzing to be back.” He said.

“I loved my first spell here, and I can’t wait to get going again on the pitch.”

Quizzed about what brought him back to the Redcar seafront, Oscar cited a shared drive for success, keen to move on in his blossoming career, and confident that Green Lane was to place to do it.

The 19-year-old said: “The ambition of the club was definitely one of the main things.

“I know the people here are desperate and hungry to win, something I share. I also feel this move and ‘new’ environment can now help me to kick on and keep developing.

“I want to win things, and impact the games positively, whether that’s with goals and assists, or doing my job off the ball.

“In the second half of last season, I was playing and scoring goals, and I want to take that form into the next season.

“Ultimately, it’s about winning, and I know I can help achieve that.”
