Josh Bennison, captain of Redcar Athletic Reserves, plans to hike over 80 miles in memory of his grandad.

The skipper will embark on an admirable trek from Flamborough Lighthouse to Southgare Lighthouse on Saturday, raising money for two charities close to his heart.

The proceeds from any gracias donations will be split between Maxi’s Mates – a charity dedicated to providing a second chance for mistreat dogs – and Grovehill Methodist Church.

On his JustGiving page, Josh said: “After recently losing my grandad, I wanted to raise some money to donate to the church he spent 90 years attending.

“The church meant so much to him and I’m sure this is who he would choose to support himself.

“Our second charity is Maxi’s Mates, because every dog deserves the best life.

“Maxi’s Mates do their best to ensure dogs who haven’t had the best start in life, get a second chance, and who doesn’t love dogs!”

Please consider supporting Josh on his fundraising venture, in memory of his Grandad, and in support of Maxi’s Mates.
