Thinking of playing tennis? Become a member with Saltburn Tennis Club today.

They are a friendly club keen to get people involved with tennis. They have four tennis courts, of which two courts have floodlights so that members can play throughout the year. You can play as a guest of a member for £20, or you can sign up to become a member yourself here.

These sessions are also available on Wednesday mornings at 10:30am.

Wildcats and Squad Girls | Redcar & Cleveland College, TS10 1EZ

As part of our ongoing bid to enhance football opportunities for young girls in the Redcar and East Cleveland area, we have both Wildcat and Squad Girls sessions. For parents that have a budding footy enthusiast or two, these are the fun filled sessions for your daughters!

Woods & Waves Forest and Beach School provide lots of opportunities for outdoor play and exploration to support children’s learning and development.

These sessions are funded by The Tees Valley Community Foundation and are only available to 18 months to 5 years old.

Women’s Walk N’ Talk (Long) | The Palace Hub | 10:30am

Everyone needs a chance to release their worked-up energy sometimes, so why not join the gals at The Palace Hub for the long Walk N’ Talk, from 10:30am.

“Both Men and Women Deal with Mental Health Challenges and sometimes it’s nice to spend time in a safe space with like minded women.

“We offer planned walks for women of all abilities on a weekly basis, and at a leisurely pace, to support healthy living and exercise as well as a time to enjoy and chat with others.”

Guisborough Christmas Parade | Sunnyfield House, TS14 6BA | 4pm

Guisborough’s annual community event run by Guisborough Town Council.

Come and enjoy this festive family event, which includes a Santa’s Parade with reindeer and lots of community group involvement, children’s entertainers, children’s rides, musical performances and a Santa’s grotto in Sunnyfield House. Many shops, cafes and restaurants open for the extended evening too.

Zumba Class with Glyn | Durham Road Community Centre | 6-7pm

Enjoy some Zumba with instructor Glyn. He has classes around the Teesside area all week, but his Redcar class is hosted in the Community Centre on Durham Road (TS10 3SB) every Tuesday and Thursday evening.

Classes cost £3 for adults and £2 for children. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

Learn to Salsa | Saltburn Community Hall | 7:30pm

Ever thought about learning Salsa? Pop along to Saltburn Community Hall (TS12 1JW) for a brand new Salsa beginners class with Kerry.

There’s no partner needed and no booking needed – just £5 per person (18+) for an hour-long session. 

Cutty Wren Folk Club | Redcar Borough Park Bowling Club | 7:45pm

Every week the guys at Cutty Wren Folk Club host a night of fantastic music with guest performers.

They say: “If you’ve not been to the Cutty Wren before, give us a try. Comfortable venue with a good range of reasonably priced drinks, easily accessible and a warm welcome.” Entry is just £5.


Cleveland Retired Men’s Association | 25K Centre, Ayton Drive | 09:45-11:30am

Cleveland Retired Men’s Association (CRMA) is seeking new members to join their group. They hold a weekly meeting every Wednesday at the 25K Centre,  Ayton Drive Redcar (TS10 4LR) from 09:45 to 11:30.

Pop along and meet new friends, enjoy a cuppa and a biscuit and listen to one of their guest speakers or informative DVDs. Entry is £1.50.

Which Craft? Ladies arts and crafts is a group to share arts and crafts, learn new skills, and meet like minded ladies.

Every Wednesday they meet up at the Palace Hub for chats, a cuppa and crafting.

Latin line dancing is on the agenda for Kerry and co on Wednesday evening, with classes costing £5 at St Hilda’s Church (TS10 4AW).

Guisborough Town Market | Guisborough High Street | 9am-4pm

Held every Thursday and Saturday, Guisborough’s weekly market sells several local grown fruit, vegetables and meats plus flowers, decorative items for loved ones and much more.

Bacon Butty Club | Green Lane, Redcar Athletic | 10am-12pm

Every Thursday morning we host a club for ex-Steelworkers and anybody interested in making friends and discussing all things Redcar.

The town prides itself on its steelmaking history and we pride ourselves on the community. This is the perfect event for communal value and reminiscing on what brings us together the most.

It’s completely free and is hosted at the clubhouse at Green Lane (TS10 3RW).

Nature Warriors | Saltburn Valley Woodland Centre, TS12 1GG | 10am-12pm

This is a Forest School session for children aged 6 – 12 years to attend with their parent/carer, siblings of all ages can also attend, however if all of your children are under 8 our Nature Families session may be better suited to you.

Children with additional needs are welcome.

A number of activities such as natural crafts, games, bug hunting, and scavenger hunts will also be available.

Children go at their own pace and follow their own interests and ideas.

Get involved in some leisure activities including badminton, table tennis and chair based exercises and then wind down with a quiz and a cuppa.

Every Thursday between 1pm and 2:20pm, those at Redcar Leisure Centre have a get together to enjoy fitness activities and a chinwag.

Marske Annual Christmas Festival & Craft Fair | Marske Square, TS11 7BA | 3:30pm-8:30pm

Once again Marske Community Partnership are organising their annual Christmas festival. This event brings out the spirit of Christmas in everyone throughout Marske.

The Pipers will be leading the parade and Santa will be at the back setting off at 6pm from Errington School. It will go down Windy Hill Lane around the roundabout and along Redcar Road finishing in the grounds of Marske Hall. If you want to see the Parade, you need to line this route so get there early!

Santa will be in his Grotto in The White House on Redcar Road 3.30pm till 5:30pm and 6:30pm till approx. 8.30pm.

There will be a fantastic craft fair in Marske Leisure Centre from 3.30pm until 7:30pm where you will be able to get hot food, drinks, and mulled wine.

Free entry to the festival – £2 per child for Santa’s Grotto

Ali’s Fitness Class | Zetland Park Methodist Church | 5:15-6:30pm

Fitness with a twist! Ali hosts two different types of fitness classes every Thursday at Zetland Park Methodist Church (TS10 3AU).

The first class, starting at 5:15pm and finishing at 5:45pm is Dancercise in the Dark, entry for which is £3.50. The second class that follows at 5:50pm and concludes at 6:30pm costs £4.50 and is called Rockbox.

Entry for both classes is £6 – £3 for new members.

Guisborough Photo Group | Methodist Church Hall, TS14 6AF | 7:30pm

Do you live in Guisborough, or the surrounding areas, and want to learn more and/or improve within the art of photography?

The guys at the Guisborough Photo Group – also known as ‘The Friendly Club’ – host a meet-up every Thursday evening at 7:30pm.

They would love to welcome new members and are open to anybody with an interest in photography, no matter the level.

A Georgian Christmas | Kirkleatham Museum, TS10 5NW | 10am - Sunday 3pm

Christmas has arrived at Kirkleatham Museum with a whole host of festive events and activities to help you celebrate a Georgian Christmas.

Community Stepping Stones CIC will provide a traditional Georgian Christmas table display. The theme will continue throughout the museum, grounds, and trails.

Father Christmas will also be there with his elves and reindeers throughout the weekend and Kirkleatham Owl Centre will be introducing some of the feathered friends.

You can create your own Georgian inspired decorations with artist Jane Riley, bringing the mystery and romance of one of the most traditional decorations to your home this Christmas along with other arts and crafts.

A range of stalls bringing a variety of goods can be found within the pavilion as well as around the museum grounds, whilst indoor and outdoor trails will take place along with a Christmas makeover of their Domestic Bliss exhibition.

Small charges apply for some activities.

The Friends of Redcar Cemetery group will be at St Peter’s Church this Saturday for a morning of coffee. They’ll be selling bric-a-brac, jigsaws, books, jewellery and plants.

Coatham Church are holding a coffee morning on Saturday. The morning will feature sandwiches, soup, a cake stall, a tombola, a ruffle, a lucky dip and, of course, coffee and other hot drinks.

Provided all is well with the weather, our reserves will be York bound for a game against Fishburn Park, with kick off at Eskdale School pencilling in for 2pm.

A Green Lane treble kicks off on Saturday for our first team, as they continue the festive fixtures by welcoming Crook to the seaside. 

Smokin’ Joes will be on hand to cook up a feast off the pitch, with their staple pop-up BBQ located outside the Steelmen’s Bar, who will be serving local beers on tap.

Our bespoke programme ‘By The Sea’, put together by our fantastic media officer Ash Stone, will be on sale for £2 on the turnstile.
