Highly-regarded duo pen contracts at Green Lane.
As professional clubs scramble towards the looming transfer deadline, Redcar Athletic marked the day with an unprecedented double signing.
Both free agents, Redcar scooped the services of Mark ‘Sparky’ Anderson, an experienced midfielder fresh from an eight year spell at Spennymoor Town, and Chay Liddle, a valued member of Carl Jarrett’s 2018 Northern League winning side.

The duo become the fifth and sixth additions under the reign of Carl Jarrett, as the new boss looks to strengthen the squad with an eye to next season.
Both have penned 18-month deals at the club, and are thus due to offer their services at Green Lane until the summer of 2025.
Two additions of unparalleled quality, the Board of Directors yet again proved delighted to finalise the deals, commenting: “We have been consistent in our approach: to try and attract the best players to Redcar Athletic.”
“These players have had lots of opportunities to go to other clubs, but we are delighted that they are at Green Lane.
“We are building a club that matches up to the ambitions of the town, the region and the economic regeneration unfolding across Teesside.
“We’re the anchor for what came before that, hence why we are the Steelmen, and want to be at the forefront of all of the positives moving forward.
“If you feel the same and want to be part of the new Redcar, then get down to Green Lane on Saturday to see all of the new players, management and experience our brilliant match day offering.”
