The Redcar boss looks ahead to our weekend visit to the Millfield Ground.
Carl Jarrett says his Steelmen should be full of confidence ahead of a scheduled trip to Millfield on Saturday afternoon.
Crook Town have impressed in both the Isuzu FA Vase and the Northern League this season, but the boss pointed to his side’s recent results when targeting another important three points.
Back on the road after a narrow – albeit comfortable – win over Whitley Bay on Tuesday, Redcar Athletic travel to County Durham to take on the ‘famous’ Black and Ambers.
Crook Town beat Albion Sports in a dramatic Isuzu FA Vase tie last weekend, and come into the contest with games in hand, and aspirations to make the playoffs.
For Carl Jarrett, it’ll be a difficult test for his side. The boss noted their many successes, and a close game at the B&D Interiors Stadium earlier in the season.
“I’m expecting a very difficult game against Crook, especially away from home.” He said.
“They’re doing very well this season under new management, both in the (Isuzu FA) Vase and other competitions. Their confidence will be sky high at the minute.
“It’ll be another tough test. I’d expect nothing more. It was a great game at home, and I think we only beat them by the one goal.
“Crook still have things to play for in the league. They can still reach the playoffs, so it’ll be no different at their ground.”
Still, the boss’s aspirations are to win the game, just like any other, and he argued recent results should see the Steelmen make the trip with a great deal of confidence.
“We’ve got to look at ourselves. We should be very confident in our last two performances, and our last two results.
“We’ve got to go into this game full of confidence, and get those three points again to keep the pressure on the chasing pack.”
