Match Report: Old Malton St Mary’s Ladies 0-5 Redcar Athletic Ladies

Redcar Athletic Ladies Manager
Redcar Athletic Ladies made the trip to Old Malton, aiming to get back to winning ways in the North Riding Women’s Premier League.
The game was fairly even in the first 15 minutes, with the visitors probing away at what looked a solid, well organised Malton defence.
That was until Olivia Bullock broke the line to race clear and put the Steelwomen 1-0 up in the 18th minute.

Redcar started to play some good football on a challenging pitch, and were soon making chances, but failing to capitalise on them.
Adele Hughes soon had to come off injured, which forced a change with Amy Smith switching to centre back.
It was from a sumptuous pass by Amy that sent Hannah Springell away to lob the ‘keeper and double Redcar’s advantage at half time.
After the break, the Ladies started exactly where they left off, forcing the issue and again creating some good chances that went begging.
Hannah Springell then scored number three from long range in the 75th minute after a period of pressure, when her shot dipped over the ‘keeper and into the net.
This gave Redcar the breathing space to relax, and Milly McNamee added a fourth in the 81st minute with a tidy lob into the far corner.
A Jess Crilly assist for Farron McPherson rounded off the scoring, with just three minutes left, to give Redcar all three points.

Next weekend, the Ladies are back to Green Lane, hosting Skelton United Ladies on Sunday 4th February.
