The Football Association have granted the league a short extension to the season.
Redcar Athletic can confirm, amidst exceptional circumstances, the Ebac Northern Football League have been granted a short extension to the current league season.
With play originally scheduled to be completed by May 6th, a mass of weather-based postponements has made such incredibly unlikely, and thus a week-long extension has been agreed by the FA.
In a statement published on their official website, the Ebac Northern League wrote: “The FA has informed the league that the season can be extended.
“In the exceptional circumstances, with the weather causing mass postponements of games throughout the season, the FA has said that all league and play-off games must now be completed by May 11.
“The original end date was Bank Holiday Monday, May 6 (the date the league had originally planned for the Division One play-off final).”
The Steelmen’s final match of the season is currently scheduled to take place on Thursday 25th April, as title-favourites Bishop Auckland visit the Redcar seafront.
