The popular left-back joins Northern League compatriots, Northallerton Town.
Redcar Athletic can confirm – further to requesting a transfer – Joe Thompson has departed the club.
The fullback takes the well-travelled road between Redcar and Northallerton, linking up with former defensive partner Daryll Hall at the Calvert Stadium.
A regular fixture in the side under the leadership of Gary Forster, Joe developed a notoriety from his lethal long-throw, adding goals to his defensive game in the current campaign.
Signed on dual registration with Wolviston in the September of 2022, the marauding left-back made 45 appearances in red and navy, netting twice and tallying two assists since the start of the season.
Popular both in the dressing room and on the terraces at Green Lane, Joe will be sorely missed by all at Redcar Athletic, who wish him the very best in his future endeavours.
Our paths will no doubt cross again, and he will always be welcome here on the Redcar seafront.
Go well, Joe.
