The winner will join the Steelmen in the Northern Premier League next season.
Newcastle Blue Star will host Blyth Town in this evening’s Northern League Division One play-off final.
The winner will scoop the final spot in next season’s (projected) Northern Premier League East, joining Redcar Athletic, Lincoln United, Silsden and Hallam in gaining promotion from Step Five.
Having finished fourth and beaten Boro Rangers in the semifinals – two stunning goals from Micheal Ndiweni, and an equally-spectacular effort from Dan Lanning – Newcastle Blue Star have home advantage.
Blyth Town beat second-placed Shildon to settle their trip to the KD Stadium. Dan Wilson opened the scoring, before a decisive own goal sealed the affair.
Redcar Athletic would like to wish both clubs the very best ahead of their bout this evening.
We look forward to welcoming the victor to Green Lane in the Northern Premier League East next season.
