Nathan Guru says Redcar Athletic need to get back to winning ways in the North Riding Senior Cup on Tuesday evening.
The Steelmen travel to the Calverts Stadium to take on Northallerton Town in the Second Round of the competition, two weeks on from a disappointing league defeat at West Auckland Town.
Offered a long break following two successive postponements, Redcar Athletic return to action on Tuesday evening in the North Riding Senior Cup Second Round.
A similar hiatus at the end of October brought about the Steelmen’s first home defeat in six months, but fan-favourite Nathan Guru believes there are no excuses not to be at their best.

“I think it will only be difficult as we make it.” He said.
“The lads have had a good rest since last Tuesday, and there’s no excuse for us not to get straight back at it.
“We need a good response (to defeat to West Auckland Town), and to bounce back to winning ways again.”
Redcar Athletic made it to the semifinals of the competition last season, where they were beaten by Boro Rangers.
Arguing the squad is ‘stronger’ this season, Nathan Guru said the title is most definitely a possibility, but wouldn’t come without hard work.
“Personally, I think we are a lot stronger this year.” Nathan said. “We can definitely go and win it.”
“I think Northallerton will sit back and try to get us on the counterattack. We just need to make sure we stay switched on at all times.”
