The Redcar boss looks ahead to our Tuesday night action on the road.
Carl Jarrett named a Tuesday night bout with Kendal Town as the toughest of nine games to come between now and the end of the season.
Redcar Athletic sit seven points clear at the top of the Northern League, but face not only their longest journey of the season, but one of their toughest opponents.
The aptly-named Mintcakes began life in the division with a whimper, thumped for four on opening day by none other than the Steelmen at the B&D Interiors Stadium.
Since, their adjustment has been swift, with a win on Tuesday evening set to carry Jimmy Marshall’s men back up into those coveted play-off spots.
Carl Jarrett had high praise for the Cumbrians, and their boss, going as far as to label the contest the toughest the Steelmen had to face on their final push to the Northern League title.
“I’m really expecting a tough game tomorrow night.” He said.
“You know, with the travel and everything that else that comes with it.
“They’re a very good team, Kendal (Town), and they’ve picked up some really good results this season. Jimmy (Marshall) has them organised really well.
“Kendal are fighting like hell to get into those play-off positions, but we’re fighting as well. We’re fighting to stay at the top of that league.
“We’ve got nine games to go. I see this as the toughest of the nine. No disrespect to anyone else, but to come here, away, on a Tuesday night, it’s going to be hard.
“We’re playing well. We’ve got to be confident. We’ve come really well on the last seven or eight games, scoring goals for fun, and keeping clean sheets as well.
“Everything is going well. But we can’t have any lack of concentration tomorrow night. Make no mistake, this is going to be a very hard game.
“Fingers crossed, we can go over there, and get the win that we need.”
