The Redcar boss offered high praise for playmaker-in-chief, Mark Anderson.
Pulling the strings from the heart of midfield, Mark Anderson has proved instrumental to Redcar Athletic’s success in the opening weeks of the season.
The midfielder boasts five assists in as many appearances – twice finding the net through a dead ball – earning him scores of praise from First Team boss Carl Jarrett.
Signed in the January of this year after a fruitful stint at Spennymoor Town, Mark Anderson faced criticism over his age and fitness, the 35-year-old quick to silence such speculation come the start of play.
The midfielder opened the Steelmen’s account against Kendal Town in July, laid on five assists in just five starts, and even proved a noticeable absence on Saturday afternoon against Crook Town.

Pleased with his performance since the turn of the season, Carl Jarrett labelled ‘Sparky’ and ‘excellent player,’ as he admitted the club have high standards for him, but standards he certainly can deliver.
“Mark has done really well.” He said, “especially considering he was feeling bad.”
“He wasn’t here on Saturday, and he’d missed a few days at work.
“He came on Tuesday night, and we didn’t know what ‘Sparky’ we were going to get.”
“He’s very effective at what he does,” the boss continued, “and he’s been on fire this season.”
“Assist wise, he’s been very, very good, and that’s what he’s in this team for.
“He’s an excellent player. He’s dropped down two or three leagues to come and play for us, and understands the vision of what we want.
“That’s what I expect from him. That’s the standard that we’ve set for that lad.
“He’s in this team for that very reason.”
