The Steelmen midfielder picked up a knock during the club's Northern League win over North Shields.
First Team Manager Carl Jarrett confirmed the club could be without Anthony Bell for some time, as the midfielder was forced to limp off the field after just 25 minutes on Saturday afternoon.
Club captain under the reign of Gary Forster, Bell proved an instrinsic part of the Steelmen’s sixth place finish last season, and continues to impress under new management.
The Redcar boss confirmed the midfielder was likely to face an unquantified period on the sidelines, admitting his absence was less than ideal following a series of stellar performances.
“It’s just a little twinge. He’s had this before, Anthony.” He said.
“He’s an experienced player, and it’s his knee that he’s had issues with in the past.
“We’re hoping that he’s going to be okay, but we have got a big enough squad, as we know.”
“I don’t want Belly out long, he’s been good since I’ve come in. He’s shown me the right attitude, which is exactly what you want when you come into a new club.
“He’s a fantastic player, but we’ll have to assess him over the next few days. If we have to leave him out, it looks like Gaz Wood will be playing!”
