The Redcar boss looks ahead to Saturday’s visit of Whickham.
Carl Jarrett lauded the efforts of his Steelmen on home soil, as Tony Fawcett’s Whickham become the latest to test their unbeaten record.
Redcar Athletic have dropped a lone two points at Green Lane in a 2-2 draw with Birtley Town, otherwise only conceding to Crook Town in the Northern League.
Sat atop to the table with a three point gap to second, Redcar’s near infallible home form has proved a major facet in their current successes.
The boss praised his players for their performances, and their endeavour, arguing a similar showing would be sure to see off the challenge of a new look Whickham.
Carl Jarrett hails an eight-day break for his table-topping Steelmen
The boss hopes to see a few faces back in contention this Saturday.
“We’ve just got to keep on doing what we’ve been doing at home.” Carl Jarrett quipped.
“I think we’ve conceded three, maybe four goals at Green Lane.
“We’ve looked really strong, and we haven’t been beaten. The only points we’ve dropped were against Birtley (Town) in that 2-2 draw.”
“We like to attack at home. We like to have the ball a lot too. We’ve just got to keep on doing these things that we’ve been doing.”
Easier said than done, Redcar Athletic’s latest test comes in the form of travelling Tynesiders, Whickham.
The Lang Jacks opened their campaign in somewhat of an underwhelming fashion by their standards, appointing Tony Fawcett to the helm in an effort to climb the table.
Carl Jarrett admitted he was familiar with Tony, having faced his sides before, offering that his well drilled Whickham will prove more than a tough test.
He added: “Whickham have a new manager, Tony (Fawcett).”
“I know Tony. He’s been there before, and had a spell at Consett before that. He’ll have them well drilled. He’s picked up a couple of new signings too.
“We’ve just got to concentrate on ourselves, every single game. Keep ticking games off.
“I think if we start off well, and we dominate the ball, then we’ll do really well.
“On Friday, we let Northallerton have a little bit too much of the ball early doors, and it put us under some pressure.
“We need to keep on doing what we’ve been doing, and set out to win all of our home games.”
